Hi ,
Lorna here from ALL3D in Galway. I have a PR / Marketing question regarding how best to highlight a new project we are embarking on.
We are launching a new non-profit element to our company using our 3d skills to take a location / building / infrastructure in Galway each month and creating a 3d image of what could be done instead. E.g. show a light rail running in the streets, show a new gallery space in the Spanish arch, show lighting installations, show a new marina etc. Some of the project are currently begin debated locally and some are just architectural /design areas we are interested in and think might look good in Galway. They are just suggestions to how Galway could look.
I want to get local media interested so they would run the images in the paper so Galway citizens can have a look. How would this best be done? By press release or contacting the papers directly to discuss the project with them. Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lorna,
Wow what an excellent idea, the best advise I can give you is to create a press release which explains in a straight forward manner what exactly it is you are trying to achieve. To this add the visuals in a "this is what we have currently" BUT "this is what we could have" manner.
With launching new products and services the biggest mistakes people make are trying to include too much information, keep it simple and to the point. For the launch I would suggest taking something which people can very much relate to for example the current traffic flow system and a proposed better one.
I would also suggest launching a competition to get feelers for publich perception on the various issues you wish to highlight.
For what it is worth I think contacting the city manager might be a good idea as there are many proposed developments and changes currently happening in the city and working with them on some of these projects might be a good idea.
When you have press release together you can send it to me and I would be happy to look over it and provide any contact details for local media that you might require. |

Thanks for the advice, will get onto writing draft and follow your points - its all about clarity, brevity and letting the images do the talking really. Will send it on when completed.
Thanks for your time & suggestions.
If anyone else has any suggestions please feel free to post them.
Thanks,
Lorna |
